Teaching and Learning
Like many other subjects we offer at MTS, the subject of English has both ordinary and adapted curriculum.
The ordinary curriculum follows the mainstream teaching and learning scheme which focuses on vocabulary and grammar development in all four language skills including listening, speaking, reading and writing.
The adapted curriculum, on the other hand, focuses on interactive strategies which engage students in an English environment with a variety of tasks.
Having Fun in Activities
Over the school year, the English Department offers a wide range of language activities to develop students’ confidence and motivation in the subject.
These include participation in the Speech Festival, immersing in cultural activities to enhance festive experiences and appreciation of English language performances such as English films, dramas and musicals.
